Pony Club Grades 1 to 5
Competition to be run
under current PCAV rules (See below for further
conditions of entry) Entry Fee - $80 each
for all sections (Including
the WPNEC facility fee of $11 per day per horse) Facility Fee The facility fee is a charge levied by the
National Equestrian Centre for use of their facilities including wash
bays, day yards and free powered and un-powered camping
sites. This fee is currently $11 per day per rider and as
the event is a 2 Day Event due to the number of riders, $22 has been added to the Entry Fee for
each rider. The National Equestrian Centre request that the
Werribee Pony Club collect this fee on their behalf.
Closing Date for Entries – Sunday, 31st August, 2008 Unless already filled Sections will be limited. Entries will be taken on a first in, first served basis
Entries will only be
taken via our web site www.werribeeponyclub.com Confirmation by email
will be forwarded to successful applicants within 7days of entry
receipt. Cheque together with
confirmation notice must be received within 14
working days of confirmation to secure
a place. Unconfirmed places
after this date will be offered to applicants on the
waiting list. Grade 1 & 2 Show

All Show jumping will be held in the Indoor Arena of
the National Equestrian Centre.
Prizes
Best overall in each section will be presented with a trophy
Sashes will be awarded from 1st to 6th place in each
section.
“Best Dressage” sash will be awarded from 1st to 3rd
for each section. To be
eligible to receive a Dressage sash, riders must compete in all 3 phases of the event. Grade 1 and 2 riders overall
winners in each section will receive a rug,
and Grade 3, 4 and 5 riders overall
winners will receive a saddle blanket

Rules
Governing Event (a)
This
event will be run under PCAV (Pony Club Association Inc.) rules - all
competitors must be conversant with these rules and entering this competition
constitutes acknowledgement that PCAV rules apply and acceptance of these
rules. (b)
The
Werribee Pony Club Inc. reserve the right to cancel a section, divide a
section, to alter advertised times or to refuse any entry with or without
stating any reason. (c)
Competitors
must be ready to commence each stage of the event at least 15 minutes prior
to scheduled time and may be required to ride earlier than scheduled due to
scratchings. (d)
Queries
and Protests will be conducted in accordance with the PCAV Handbook of
By-laws. 2.
Present
to Office PCAV membership cards must be
presented to the office when collecting Werribee Pony Club Inc. Back Numbers.
Membership Cards must prove eligibility and grading in accordance with the
PCAV handbook. 3.
Gear (a)
Approved
safety helmets must be worn at all times whilst mounted. (b)
Medical
Arm Bands are required to be worn by all competitors in every phase of the
event. Werribee Pony Club Inc. Back Numbers must be worn in the Cross Country
phase. Due to the amount of entrants, we recommend back numbers for all
phases. (c)
Other
rules as per PCAV Gear rules. 4.
Gear
Check (a)
Each club
must supply at least one competent and responsible Gear Check Steward to be
included in a roster to gear check their own club riders. (b)
All gear
checks will be conducted according to the roster at the official gear check
location. (c)
Competitors
must ensure that they have had their gear checked and have the official gear
check sticker clearly displayed before competing in any phase of the
event. Stickers will be available upon collection of your back numbers. 5.
(a)
All
persons entering the National Equestrian Centre must to obey ALL
instructions including Verbal & Written (Notices, Signs etc.) made by
persons authorized by The Werribee Pony Club Inc Committee or the Staff of
the National Equestrian Centre. (b)
Bareback
riding is prohibited. (c)
Riding of
rugged and/or unbridled horses is prohibited. (d)
Horses
are not permitted within/upon the quadrangle (between the barn and Indoor 1). (e)
Horses
are not permitted near pedestrian door ways. (f)
Bicycles
are not permitted in the Indoor Arenas or near doors designated as public
entrances or exits. (g)
Motor
Cyclist riders must wear approved safety helmets and hold the appropriate
licence. (h)
Speed
limits must be adhered to at all times. (i)
Power
leads must not cross roads or tracks. (j)
Construction
of portable/tape yards is prohibited. (k)
Alcohol
must not be consumed in the Indoor Arenas, unless purchased from the licensed
bar located in Indoor Arena No 1. (l) Werribee Park National
Equestrian Centre Committee of Management consider it a privilege
that you are allowed to bring your dog to this venue. We insist
you keep your dog under effective control at all times. 6.
Entries
& Riding Times (a)
Approximate
times (subject to scratchings) for each phase of the event will be available
from the Monday the 15th September 2008 from our web site at www.werribeeponyclub.com
or by telephone from Wednesday the 17th September 2008 on (03) 9741 6074
(after hours only). (b)
We regret
that due to the large number of competitors, we can only accept one entry per
rider in Grades 3, 4 and 5. If places exist, second mounts may be accepted
only in Grades 1 & 2 for riders wishing to qualify mounts for State Level
competitions. Where two horses are entered we will at our discretion, take
the highest graded horse as the preferred entry. If two of the same grade are
entered, the first horse on entry will become the preferred mount. (c)
Scratchings
will only be accepted by completing the Scratchings form (available on our
Website) and emailing to wpc.secretary@werribeeponyclub.com or by post to (d) In the event of the Horse Trials being cancelled due to circumstances
that may be beyond the control of the Werribee Pony Club or the Werribee Park
National Equestrian Centre, a fee may apply to cover costs. 7.
Disclaimer (a)
Neither
the Werribee Pony Club Inc., the National Equestrian Centre nor the PCAV,
accepts any responsibility whatsoever for any accident, damage, injury or
illness to horses, riders, ground spectators or any other person or property. 8.
Cross
Country Course (a)
The Cross
Country Course is only to be ridden by the rider during competition times.
There is to be no “schooling” horses during the event over the Course. (b)
Once a
rider has been eliminated at an obstacle, the horse and rider MUST retire from the course and walk
home. 9.
Media
and Digital Publication Consent (a)
PCAV
members and families that are involved with the 2008 Horse Trials may be
photographed by official photographers. There are also times when local press
are invited to cover particular events. Digital images are also used in
newsletters, flyers, websites and other promotional activities for the
Werribee Pony Club and the PCAV. 10.
Bio Security forms (a) Bio Security forms need to be completed with your
confirmation entry form. Once your entry has been accepted, and payment is to
be made, the form needs to be completed and returned with your payment, and
confirmation entry form letter. Entry Details ·
Entry
Fee
is $80 for each entrant and MUST accompany the CONFIRMATION
entry form. Cheques should be made payable to the Werribee Pony Club Inc. ·
Please
note - NO refunds after closing date unless a medical certificate
is provided. ·
Please
note - Any Cancellations or scratchings will be subject to a $15
administration fee. ·
